The word heritage often conjures up images of old buildings and ancient artifacts, but to Robert and Margaret Watkins-Sully it is more about culture and food. In 2007 they launched a range of traditionally influenced pickles and preserves under the label ‘Braidwood Gourmet Kitchen’. Unlike monuments and museum pieces, cultural heritage is complex and kinetic, with regional specialties often evolving from generation to generation. Originating from rural Wales their range includes old favorites such as Piccalilli, Ploughman’s Styled Pickled Onions and the ever popular Autumn Chutney. Having lived as expatriates in Africa and Asia for many years Robert and Margaret have been immersed in a wide variety of cultures, these influences can be seen in a number of products, such as their Lemon & Ginger Chutney, Chilli Relish and Preserved Lemons.
