Boxes by Ed Gardner
Ed Gardner was born in the United Kingdom in 1942. He trained there as a printer, came to Australia and spent the next 45 years in the trade; for the last 20 of those years he and his wife owned and operated a printing business in Canberra.
In 1999 they retired, moved to Braidwood and bought the original undertakers house.
Ed now spends much of his time following his passion, using the old coffin makers' workshop, to make - appropriately - wooden boxes.
Ed exhibits and sells his work at The Old Cheese Factory, Reidsdale and BRAG exhibitions.
A timber enthusiast, Ed collects much of the raw materials used to create his boxes from locally grown trees and pre-loved pieces of furniture. |
